Showdown Sunday #2: UU Can Be Annoying

Hey, guys! Welcome to another Showdown Sunday! I decided to play a little bit of UU today for a change.

I'll give you a quick overview of my team before we get into today's battle.

Zygarde @ Lum Berry
Ability: Aura Break
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Extreme Speed
- Earthquake
- Outrage

This Zygarde is fantastic at late-game sweeping. It can set up a Dragon Dance and take a Will-O-Wisp with that Lum Berry. The Lum Berry can also be used to cure the confusion after Outrage, making Zygarde a force to be reckoned with!

Absol @ Absolite
Ability: Super Luck
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk
Hasty Nature
- Play Rough
- Sucker Punch
- Fire Blast
- Swords Dance

Mega-Absol is a great threat and can easily take down other stalling Pokemon with some well-timed Swords Dances. Sucker Punch can do some major damage to even the bulkiest of Pokemon once you can set and Fire Blast is great coverage despite being special. Play Rough can easily take care of Dragons like Noivern and Fighting-Types like Hitmonlee.

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 224 SDef / 248 HP / 36 Spd
Calm Nature
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Giga Drain
- Stealth Rock

Despite only having one attacking move and no investment in Special Attack, Celebi can do some major damage to some frailer Water-Types and Ground-Types such as Crawdaunt and even Gastrodon. SubLeech is normally abused with Whimsicott, but works with Celebi's natural bulk very well.

Chandelure @ Expert Belt
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Flamethrower
- Energy Ball
- Shadow Ball
- Pain Split

Chandelure is a beast with insanely high special attack. Pain Split can help recover health, while the other three attacks will destroy anything not prepared to take it on. Unfortunately, Chandelure is sort of frail and can be taken out if your opponent can survive a STAB Flamethrower or Shadow Ball.

Kangaskhan (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Wish
- Roar
- Drain Punch
- Fake Out

Although Kangaskhanite is banned in UU and OU, Kangaskhan is still a fantastic Pokemon. It may not be the best offensively, but it is a decent supporter and can take a few physical hits, as well. Even when burned (as you'll see in this battle), Kangaskhan can still do some major damage to your opponent's team if you can Roar them out while hazards are up.

Omastar @ Focus Sash
Ability: Weak Armor
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
- Shell Smash
- Earth Power

BOW DOWN TO THE HELIX! Omastar is definitely the STAR of the team! But in all seriousness, Omastar is a fantastic suicide lead that can take a hit because of its Focus Sash then get a Shell Smash up and bulldoze right through your opponent's lead Pokemon.
