Skiddo Papercraft

It's been weeks and weeks, and the Skiddo papercraft is finally here. It was supposed to be posted on Saint Patrick's Day, but as you can tell, it wasn't. Apparently it wasn't a very incoming goat....

I wasn't able to build Skiddo's head because my printer had no ink left. So here's a picture of a deformed Skiddo without a head. Have fun looking at it.

As for the model template itself, it does have a head. Don't freak out about the green fluffy stuff that is in the template near the legs and surrounding the head. It's just some color I added because the head and legs are white and the background is also white. You might have noticed that I used this technique on the Slurpuff and Swirlix papercrafts also.

Foo Wallpaper Speedpaint!

Foo has a cool story behind him. I created Foo a long time ago during what I like to call "The Creative Summer" in August 2013. I never had a name for it until I tried re-designing it a couple days ago. The name "Foo" popped in my head and I started using that name to refer to it. I'm too lazy to come up with a name, so I just decided to stick with "Foo". You'll find out more about little Foo in the duration of the next few days. ;)

In this Speedpaint, I tried to draw in a style that is much different from what I usually draw. The result is pretty interesting. I spent a lot of time on it. I hope you like it! The Foo Wallpaper is now on the Wallpapers Page.

The music that was used in the Speedpaint is from here. I don't recommend using headphones or turning up the volume loud because the music tends to get a little "extreme" at some points. Also, the music doesn't start until two seconds after the video starts playing.

Shiny Spotlight: Prankster Edition!

Sean pointed out to me that I didn't post a Shiny Spotlight this week, so here I am. Since it was April Fool's Day yesterday, I'm going to be spotlighting a shiny "prankster" Pokemon: Sableye! If you read Sean's post, then you might know that Sableye has "Prankster" as it Hidden Ability. I also think Sableye looks very mischievous in appearance.
Shiny Sableye is gold and has a green gem on its chest. It has pale brown eyes instead of light blue eyes.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaapril Fool's

Today is pretty cool because it's April Fool's Day! People keep on telling me that there's something a bit...weird about Emolga's Place, but I can't seem to notice anything different. That's too bad.

If you really like decorations, you're in luck! Tomorrow is National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day so you will be seeing cool decorations tomorrow to celebrate. And we ALL KNOW who loves peanut butter...

Yup, you guessed it! Eggsplat loves peanut butter. Well that's all for now so....PEACE! :]

Pokemon on Google Maps!?

Okay so part of an April Fool's Prank, Google has hidden POKEMON on Google Maps. Don't believe me? Download the Google Maps App for iOS or Android and you can check it out for yourself. There's even an Emolga in Switzerland! It's pretty cool. You can read more about it here.

Wallpaper + 100th post!

It's Saturday, so I'm posting a wallpaper today. I was supposed to post a wallpaper for the 3rd Anniversary, but I haven't had much time to do that lately with the homework I have. I decided that since it is Dimmil Madness Week that I should post a Dimmil wallpaper. It's currently added to the Wallpapers Page.

In other news, Sean posted the 100th post! Well, it's not really the 100th post because I deleted a couple posts and I'm not really sure which post is the 100th for sure. I'm not even sure that I would count it as 100 at all because there was around 80 posts on the original Emolga's Place. But, hey. It's still pretty cool to take in mind that there has been more than 100 posts so far.

Hopefully I'll be able to post the Gogoat papercraft soon. But until then...

Time to Draw: Dimmil Speed Paint!

I declare this week to be Dimmil Madness Week! Yay for so much Dimmil! Over the next few days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) I'll be doing some Dimmil-themed things and I've even added Dimmil decorations.

Many of you asked why there were Mega Salamence decorations. Mega Salamence won the poll, so I made Salamence decorations. I would have made Mega Ninetales or Ursaring decorations if they won the poll instead.

How much times have I said Dimmil....?

Alright, here's the Speed Paint video you guys were waiting for. And it turns out that it features Dimmil as well! >>The volume of the music is a bit low turning the first couple seconds, but it then gets louder.<<

The music is a remix of Goldenrod City from G/S/C. I was planning to actually put this song on the Eggsplat Speed Paint, but the music wasn't working for some reason. Luckily I got it to work this time. The music is from the video here!

"Legendary Ento" Info!

As you might know, I'm going to be drawing a writing a "digital manga". This is simply a story that is in comic form and has a big page posted every few days. It is about a region that I designed called Ento. It is home to tons of unfamiliar new Pokemon, and you'll be able to see them all in the story as you read on. Ento is also the home of Kohei Lin, who is a legendary Pokemon collector, and his sister Megg. Throughout their journey, they try to complete a very challenging task and meet many new people. There will even be multiple references and cameos :) I'm not going to spoil much more so you'll just have to wait and see it. It's going to be a very fun adventure and there will be lots of cool battles, suspense, and even some unexpected twists. You won't want to miss out on reading it.

Today, I also finished the final designs for Dimmil's evolutionary family. Here's a little look! I blurred them out so I don't spoil too much ;)

HHNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGH  UPDATE FROM OCTOBER 2017! The info above is hella outdated and false by now! Don't go looking for any "digital manga" I created, it was unfinished as heck and I never posted it. Sorry. It was terrible anyway- both the drawing and writing aspect of it. It was just a dumb fan creation and a big waste of time. Dimmil's evolutions look nothing like the crappy ones above by now, I gave them much better final designs and changed their names. So... yeah. Bye.

To-do List

I've written down some things I'm going to do very soon on the list right below.

-Make a new "Time to Draw" Speed Paint video
-Post a sneak peek of Legendary Ento
-Finish the skiddo papercraft
-Start a new poll

Well that's all for now, so I'm ending this post with a dolphin Pokemon that I created. It's called Dimmil:

Shiny Spotlight: Electric Critters!

There is a tradition of small electric creatures for each generation. Pikachu and Raichu came first, then Pichu, Plusle and Minun, Pachirisu, Emolga, and Dedenne. Most of their shiny forms are really cool and look very cute.

Plusle and Minun can be compared to how Pikachu, Raichu, and Pichu are shiny. They also slightly differ in shade and have darker main body colors. In this case, their bodies appear as a darker yellow. Minun is more noticeable than Plusle with its green ears and hands.

Pachirisu is pink and has orange cheeks. It looks incredibly girly. #totallygirlypink  :P

Emolga is one of my favorite shinies. It is cream brown and pale yellow. These colors go together very nicely, and it takes on a pastel-style look.

Dedenne is the new addition to the gang. He is brown, yellow, and white. I loved this shiny so much that I spent hours attempting to hatch one! I succeeded, and now there's a little sparkly hamtaro named Smitty in my PC.  :)

Pichu's evolutionary line isn't really all that fantastic when it comes to being shiny. Pichu is apparently the color of a regular Pikachu, and shiny Pikachu takes on a gold tint. Raichu looks bright and is a dark orange instead of its normal pale orange color.

(Unfortunately, I couldn't find any shiny sprites from X and Y for these three Pokemon.)

That's all for now! By the way, if there was a shiny Neuo: It would have maroon ears and the same body color that shiny Plusle and Minun have ;)

Thanks to Serebii.net for temporarily shutting down multiple times and being incredibly laggy the shiny sprites I used in this post!

Happy 3-year Anniversary, Emolga's Place!

Today marks exactly 3 years since I created this website, and I'm really glad I did. Emolga's Place has been so much fun throughout all these years! In celebration of the special occasion, I've changed the header and background. You might also notice something special on the right sidebar if you scroll down a little :)
I will post the wallpaper tomorrow instead of today but it'll be worth waiting for it....because it's a wallpaper that celebrates the anniversary. It's going to be spectacular.

Thanks, everyone! Keep on being great! ;D

Celebration!

Tomorrow is the 3rd Anniversary of Emolga's Place! Three years is a really long time! When EP was created, Sean and Taylor were practically the only people that knew about it and visited frequently. Emolga's Place was closed for a long time, and I opened it again last month. Nowadays Emolga's Place is much different and the feeling of being here is much better. Emolga's Place used to just be a website that I had where I would just post really horrible drawings and papercrafts.  Now it is a lot better, and there are also other authors on the site. Emolga's Place has really grown, and I'd like to say thank you: for helping it grow.

Look forward to a big celebration tomorrow! You won't want to miss it!

The Wallpaper Revolution!

I haven't posted a wallpaper in a while, but I did today! It is actually a wallpaper I made more than a month ago and it features Pokemon that Sean actually used in his Pokemon X Nuzlocke! It's a grand collage that took me a few weeks to make. He suggested that I should post it, so I did. :)

In other news, I'm going to start making iPad and iPhone wallpapers! These will be similiar to the regular wallpapers, but in a format to fit the screen size of those devices. Those wallpapers will include ones for:

iPod touch Gen 4 and 5
iPad mini and regular iPad
iPhone

You will start seeing these types of wallpapers this Saturday.

Incoming Goat!

I'm working on a Skiddo papercraft! I'm not finished, so here's a look at it:

Shiny Spotlight: St. Patrick's Day Special!

Today is St. Patricks's Day, that jolly holiday when everything is lucky and green! To celebrate this holiday, today I will be doing two Pokemon that have green shiny forms: Ursaring and Teddiursa.

Both Pokemon are very vibrant and clearly stand out from their regular forms. Teddiursa is a dull light green, while Ursaring is a neon lime green.
That's it for now!

Decorations!

Today you might have noticed that Emolga's Place looks a bit different. This is because I "decorated" the background and header in celebration of St. Patrick's Day! When a holiday or special occasion comes up I'll usually change the header and background again. Don't worry--it'll only look different for a little while and then I'll change it back to normal. The next time I'll decorate is for...well..I can't tell you right now. However, I can tell you that I'm doing it on March 22nd. The St. Patrick's Day decorations will be removed on March 18th.

Shiny Spotlight #3: The Eevee Family!

Eevee and its evolutions, also known as "Eeveelutions", have very interesting shiny forms. Shiny Vaporeon looks somewhat like a mermaid as its shiny form, and Espeon resembles a weird goblin... Jolteon looks like it is about to barf and Eevee looks as if it face-planted into snow. Shiny Umbreon looks by far the most cool out of the bunch with its blue radiant glow. Glaceon, Leafeon, and Flareon do not have very good shiny forms because they only change slightly in shade. Shiny Sylveon is the newcomer of the gang, and it looks like a boy wearing female clothes.

Well, that's all for now...see you next week for another Shiny Spotlight!

Neuo Pixel Art

Yay I made a pixel art too! However, this is a minecraft version of a sprite I made myself on windows paint also. The actual Neuo sprite:

Inkay Papercraft

Inkay is a Pokemon that resembles a squid and evolves in a very strange way. It evolves into Malamar at level 30, but the 3DS needs to be upside-down when it reaches that level. This is probably why Malamar's head has tentacles coming out from the top.

This papercraft is harder than others because of the curves. Also, there are no tabs for this papercraft. You're going to build this papercraft with tape.

Time to Draw: Mega Ninetales (Speed Paint Edition!)

This video took me two days to make and it almost messed up my computer, but here it is! Mega Ninetales! It is Fire/Fairy type when it mega evolves.

This drawing consists of the same process I used for my other Mega Evolution drawings. First, I draw it on paper, and then I scan it to the computer to start editing it with GIMP.

I've also updated the Wallpapers Page with a wallpaper that features Mega Ninetales. You should check it out!

In case you need to know, the music is from this video here! It's a remix of the Kanto Gym leader theme.
